Basketball Recap: Bigtyme Prep Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After flying high against Legacy Christian Academy on Friday, BigTyme Prep Academy came back down to earth. The BigTyme Prep Academy Bears took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenhill Hornets on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Hornets are ranked 39th).

Despite the loss, BigTyme Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Zion Ibekwe, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dailon Minor, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Leading Greenhill to victory were DIllon Watt and Kameron Smith. Watt had 22 points, while Smith dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Jaxson Thompson was another key player, putting up nine points.

BigTyme Prep Academy moved to 9-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Greenhill, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

BigTyme Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-31 win against Cistercian on the 28th. As for Greenhill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 79-45 victory against Dallas Christian on the 28th.
