Volleyball Game Preview: South Webster Jeeps vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs

The South Webster Jeeps will square off against the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

South Webster saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Portsmouth West. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jeeps.

South Webster found their leader in freshman Emma Campbell, who had five digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Campbell.

South Webster was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 11-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay hadn't done well against Fairfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 win.

While Lynchburg-Clay won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.

Lynchburg-Clay's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for South Webster, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
