Recap: Midway Raiders vs. Holmes Aces
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Midway Raiders can now relate to. They suffered a tough 38-14 loss at the hands of Holmes on Friday. Midway has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Midway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cody Ammons, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown, and Ke'mari Mcneill who picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ky Basnight was a one-man wrecking crew for Holmes as he rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Basnight's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Midway has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Holmes, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holmes is on the road again on Thursday and play against Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Northeastern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
