Baseball Recap: Mangham Comes Up Short

Mangham fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against St. Frederick on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragons have suffered since March 19, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Mangham and nudges their season record down to 8-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for St. Frederick, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-13.

Coming up, Mangham will face off against Sterlington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Frederick, they will square off against Ouachita Parish at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
