Baseball Recap: La Puente Warriors vs. Ganesha Giants
La Puente extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They lost 19-1 to the Ganesha Giants. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Giants this season, with their most recent defeat being a 21-0 loss on Tuesday.
As for Ganesha, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-3. Considering they have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Ganesha's part, Sutton Frost made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Frost a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Tommy Giandomenico was a standout: he fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Christian Eaton was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
