Baseball Recap: Kanab Snags 14th Victory in Last 15 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kanab had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Beaver Beavers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cowboys have posted since April 11th.

The team relied heavily on Kash Kabonic, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kanon Virostko, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Kanab has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Beaver, they moved to 22-4 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Kanab does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beaver, they will challenge South Sevier at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Beavers 3.2, the Rams 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
