Dynamic duo of Jackie Hugo and Lucy Pennefather lead Seton to victory

Recap: Seton Conquistadors vs. Trinity Christian Gryphons

The Seton Conquistadors came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Trinity Christian 33-31. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Seton has scored all year.

Seton was led to victory by Jackie Hugo and Lucy Pennefather. Hugo scored eight points along with five steals, while Pennefather scored 15 points along with five assists and two blocks. Pennefather is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Seton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seton's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fredericksburg Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Fredericksburg Christian is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Michael the Archangel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (St. Michael the Archangel: 29.8, Trinity Christian: 26.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
