Basketball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They fell 55-45 to the Canajoharie Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-46 back in December of 2025.

Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Canajoharie, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Mayfield will welcome Fort Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canajoharie, they will head out on the road to face off against Cobleskill-Richmondville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
