 It was a good run, but  Berean Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their  eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Las Lomas Knights. Berean Christian had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.
 Berean Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Josh Werner, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base.
 On Las Lomas' side,  Brady Wright made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Wright was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other pitching news, Las Lomas got a great performance from  Alessandro Martinez-Cabrera as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Martinez-Cabrera has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time he's  pitched this season.
 Back at the plate,  Cruz Lopez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with a  stolen base and two  RBI.  Noah Lathrop was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Berean Christian  fell to 8-1. As for Las Lomas,  the  victory  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Berean Christian will be playing at home against Terra Linda at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Las Lomas, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Albany at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Albany's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so Las Lomas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
