Baseball Recap: Saint Andrew's Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Saint Andrew had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Westminster Christian Warriors with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. The Scots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Michael Tight was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Tight was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Emery Coleman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Coy Allman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Matt Spina was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Saint Andrew's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster Christian only posted a batting average of .053.

Saint Andrew's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Westminster Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12-1.

Saint Andrew's will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
