Softball Game Preview: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Placer Hillmen

Foresthill has won four straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Placer has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. Foresthill will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Placer at 4:10 p.m.

Foresthill is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 20-0 to Placer on March 10th.

For Placer's part, Sydney Nitta made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nitta has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Paige Denniston was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Emma Herr was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Placer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive contests.
