After flying high against Cedar Bluffs last Tuesday, Mead came back down to earth. The Mead Raiders took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yutan Chieftains. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Mead lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brady Gartner, who posted 15 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Tytus R Lee, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
Mead's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Yutan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
