Basketball Recap: Highland Huskies vs. Strasburg Indians
On Friday, Highland faced Strasburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Highland Huskies lost to the Strasburg Indians on the road by a 69-53 margin. Highland's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowdy Watson, who went 7 of 12 to rack up 15 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 31 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Tyce Bollers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Strasburg, going 9 for 14 on his way to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Bollers has posted since back in January of 2024. Colton Holloway was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.
