Baseball Recap: Buffalo Gap Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stonewall Jackson last Wednesday, Buffalo Gap came back down to earth. The Bison lost 7-1 to the Fort Defiance Indians on Tuesday. The Bison have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Buffalo Gap saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ace Long, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That hit was Long's first of the season.

Buffalo Gap's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fort Defiance, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Buffalo Gap will venture away from home to square off against Stuarts Draft at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Defiance, they will welcome Rockbridge County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
