Basketball Recap: Essex Comes Up Short

Essex came up into this matchup off a tough 39-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Mt. Mansfield Cougars by a score of 37-35 on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-42 back in December of 2024.

Essex dropped their record down to 5-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mt. Mansfield, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Essex will take on Champlain Valley Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Mansfield, they will face off against Burlington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
