Volleyball Recap: Santiago Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Santiago had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Corona on Tuesday. The Sharks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-16.

Pierce Willardson paced Santiago's offense, picking up ten kills. Willardson got some help from Carson Chambers and his 28 assists. Finally, Willardson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Santiago's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. As for Corona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.

Santiago will challenge King at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Sharks are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Corona, they will square off against Centennial at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Huskies will have lost five straight heading into Thursday's contest.
