Baseball Game Preview: Cheney Blackhawks vs. University Titans

For the second straight game, Cheney will face off against University. The Blackhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Cheney turned things around against University on Friday. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 6-3.

Brayden Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Cheney's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-12 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jacob Ulrich was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Chris Wilson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

University dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cheney, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
