Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Cardinal came tearing into Thursday's match with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bristol Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cardinal took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-9, 25-9.

Cardinal can attribute much of their success to Aliyssa Detweiler, who had six aces and four digs. That's the most aces Detweiler has posted since back in August.

Detweiler wasn't the only good server: Cardinal was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 31 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 37 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cardinal's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Bristol, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
