Baseball Recap: Mannford Takes a Loss

Mannford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perkins-Tryon Demons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since March 1, 2024.

Mannford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quincy Ardrey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Mannford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Perkins-Tryon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-9.

While Mannford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
