Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Belding

Belding entered their tilt with Fruitport on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Trojans.

Emma Ingles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Ingles, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Belding's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Fruitport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Belding will head out to challenge North Muskegon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fruitport has already played their next matchup (against Kelloggsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
