Football Game Preview: Wicksburg Panthers vs. Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors + How To Watch

The Wicksburg Panthers will challenge the Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wicksburg took a loss when they played away from home back in October, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They blew past Northside Methodist Academy 49-14. The Panthers have beaten the Knights the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last game, Cottage Hill Christian Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Luke's Episcopal on Thursday. The Warriors simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 48-14. With the Warriors ahead 35-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Wicksburg better focus on containing Kaden Nguyen and Shamar Toodle as the pair were huge in Cottage Hill Christian Academy's win. Nguyen rushed for 169 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, while Toodle threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. With that strong performance, Nguyen is now averaging an impressive 100.7 rushing yards per game. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Aaron Ward, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 287 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Luke's Episcopal only rushed for 176.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out Cameron Roberts seven times. St. Luke's Episcopal's QB won't forget Caleb Metzner anytime soon given he sacked him 3.5 times. Caden Wiggins was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making five total tackles.

Wicksburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Wicksburg has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cottage Hill Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 201.1 rushing yards.
