Pickens Academy's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

Recap: Pickens Academy Pirates vs. Sparta Academy Warriors
The Pickens Academy Pirates lost against the Sparta Academy Warriors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Pickens Academy took a hard 60-42 fall against Sparta Academy. It was the first time this season that Pickens Academy let down their fans at home.
Jamie Ellissa Deason was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds for Sparta Academy. Deason hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Mary Trainham Brock was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Pickens Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3. As for Sparta Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pickens Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. Sparta Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Monroe Academy at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. Monroe Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
