Basketball Game Preview: Richland Raiders vs. Wayne County Wildcats

Richland hasn't had much luck against Wayne County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Richland Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Wayne County Wildcats.

Last Wednesday, Richland came up short against Moore County and fell 54-43.

Meanwhile, Wayne County came tearing into Wednesday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Warriors 63-38. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Warriors are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 27-4.

Richland came up short against Wayne County when the teams last played back in January, falling 46-42. Can Richland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
