Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Eagles vs. Totino-Grace Eagles

Kennedy will square off against Totino-Grace at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Totino-Grace took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kennedy, who comes in off a win.

Kennedy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Roosevelt as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Noelia Fierro made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Fierro was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Spencer, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Skibbie, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roosevelt only posted an OBP of .278.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Totino-Grace was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Andover, falling 19-2. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Totino-Grace's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Kennedy's way against Totino-Grace when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Kennedy made off with a 15-7 victory. Does Kennedy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Totino-Grace turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
