Volleyball Recap: Madeira's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Madeira and Sidwell Friends meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Snails put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Snails were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Quakers, so the Snails were just returning the favor.

Madeira walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 25-15.

Madeira's win ended a four-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Sidwell Friends, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madeira will host Evergreen Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sidwell Friends, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DC International at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
