Basketball Recap: Kobe Sims Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hiram

Fox Creek saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 64-51 win over the Hiram Hornets. Given the Predators' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 80th in South Carolina, while the Hornets are ranked 323rd in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fox Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kobe Sims, who went 10 for 24 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Vining, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Fox Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Fox Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Hiram, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Fox Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-61 defeat against Indian Land on the 27th. As for Hiram, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-52 loss against Lakeside on the 27th.
