Baseball Recap: Oxford's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Oxford dropped their record down to 5-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 8-0 to the Bay Path RVT Minutemen. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 16-4 to the Minutemen when the teams met back in May of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Bay Path RVT, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Bay Path RVT's part, the result came thanks to Jacob Jurado's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. Jurado has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bay Path RVT let Dale Nussey and Max Lapriore run wild. Nussey went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Lapriore went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Nussey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Davis, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Oxford will be playing at home against Leicester at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Bay Path RVT, they will face off against Bristol-Plymouth RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
