Baseball Recap: Kearns Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kearns waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Hunter Wolverines as they made off with a 12-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-6 victory on Wednesday.

Boston Slaugh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Durfee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chase Good, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Kearns was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Kearns picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-20. As for Hunter, they dropped their record down to 0-24 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
