Basketball Recap: High Tech SD Piles Up the Points Against Foothills Christian

High Tech SD extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping them up to 4-1. They took their game with ease, bagging an 84-53 win over the Foothills Christian Knights. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Storm were down 45-0 in the third quarter.

Rafeal Suarez had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Eiman Khalighi also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

High Tech SD smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

As for Foothills Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. They were up 45 in the third, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.

Despite the loss, Foothills Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Joel Richards posted 23 points. That was a full 43.4% of the Knights' points, marking the third time in a row Richards has put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Casteneda, who scored 12 points.

Coming up, High Tech SD will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Del Lago Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Foothills Christian, they will take on Central in a tournament on Thursday.
