Soccer Recap: Marianapolis Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Winchendon on Saturday, Marianapolis Prep came back down to earth. The Golden Knights fell just short of the Pomfret School Griffins by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marianapolis Prep of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Marianapolis Prep now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Pomfret School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marianapolis Prep will host Hyde at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pomfret School, they will welcome Dexter Southfield at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dexter Southfield's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
