Basketball Recap: Mid-Pacific Institute Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mid-Pacific Institute ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past the Kamehameha Kapalama Warriors with a 70-65 victory. This was a revenge game for the Owls: when they faced off against the Warriors back in January, they had to take a 62-56 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mid-Pacific Institute to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darius Chizer, who went 9 of 17 en route to 26 points. Those 26 points gave Chizer a new career-high. Logan Mason was another key player, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards.

The win snapped Mid-Pacific Institute's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-15 record. As for Kamehameha Kapalama, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Mid-Pacific Institute has already played their next game, a 57-56 loss against St. Louis on the 30th. As for Kamehameha Kapalama, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-43 defeat against Maryknoll on the 30th.
