Yates and North Forest are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Lions will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Yates' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Kashmere for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-0 win. The Lions' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Chris Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 89 yards and three TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing. What's more, he racked up 166.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Edward Shinall was Brown's top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Yates was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Yates' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Derrick Wolford was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Forest against Kashmere two weeks ago as the squad secured a 52-6 win. That 46 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.
Yates' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for North Forest, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Yates has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 334.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Yates was able to grind out a solid victory over North Forest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 32-21. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
