Baseball Game Preview: Horn Lake Eagles vs. Lewisburg Patriots

Horn Lake is 1-9 against Lewisburg since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Horn Lake is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They fell 7-2 to Southaven.

Meanwhile, Lewisburg faced Hernando in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lewisburg got a good showing from Brady Rodgers, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rodgers has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andrew Hendrichovsky made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Caden Nelson was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Horn Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Lewisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
