Basketball Recap: Kimball Starts Season with Win at Home

Kimball gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 74-39 win over the AIMS College Prep Golden Eagles. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-17.

Kimball was led to victory by Tristen Debenedetti and Prathum Sandhawlia. Debenedetti shot 83% from the field on his way to 13 points and three steals, while Sandhawlia went 5-for-7 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandros Goumenidis, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 10 points and six assists.

Kimball was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

AIMS College Prep's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Marcell Saliba-Coffey, who posted 11 points and six boards, and Mohamed Wade, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Abram, who earned four points and six rebounds.

AIMS College Prep's record is now 1-1.

Kimball didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-60 victory against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy on the 24th. As for AIMS College Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 79-34 win against Castlemont on the 24th.
