Recap: Van Horn Eagles vs. Big Bend Roadrunners
The Van Horn Eagles posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Big Bend with a sharp 44-19 win. The win was nothing new for Van Horn as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Horn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mallory Mendoza, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Taylor Martinez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Van Horn is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Big Bend, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Horn will take on Sierra Blanca at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Bend will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dell City at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th.
