Basketball Game Preview: Edison Wildcats vs. Beaver Local Beavers

Edison and Beaver Local are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Edison Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Beaver Local Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver Local took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Edison, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, everything came up roses for Edison against St. Clairsville as the team secured a 49-15 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Beaver Local was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 41-35 to Harrison Central. The Beavers have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Edison is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Beaver Local, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Edison took their win against Beaver Local in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 67-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
