Softball Recap: Canyon Comes Up Short

Canyon lost against Chaminade back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Canyon Cowboys took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chaminade Eagles.

Canyon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rose Aguilla, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. Aguilla also put up a hit, which washer first of the season. Another was Maci Dunnagan, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chaminade, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon will host Notre Dame (SO) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame (SO) is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Chaminade, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paraclete at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
