The Tussey Mountain Titans will take on the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tussey Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Tussey Mountain turned things around against Claysburg-Kimmel on Tuesday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Camden Chilcote's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tussey Mountain is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Connor Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Tussey Mountain: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aidan Lane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Moshannon Valley entered their matchup against Williamsburg on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Black Knights/Damsels lost 9-2 to the Blue Pirates. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Black Knights/Damsels couldn't push the score so high this time.
Moshannon Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Reifer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Moshannon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Tussey Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Moshannon Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tussey Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Moshannon Valley, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Tussey Mountain's hitters?
Tussey Mountain took their victory against Moshannon Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Black Knights/Damsels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
