Baseball Recap: Bishop Feehan Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Bishop Feehan entered their tilt with Cardinal Spellman on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cardinals. The Shamrocks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Ayden Mello tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Randen May, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Mordas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Bishop Feehan pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cardinal Spellman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Feehan will welcome St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Shamrocks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cardinal Spellman, they will host Bishop Fenwick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
