Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Mountlake Terrace

Shorecrest typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Mountlake Terrace proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 45-40 win over the Shorecrest Scots. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Scots are ranked 16th).

Mountlake Terrace is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Shorecrest, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2.

Mountlake Terrace has already played their next contest (against Meadowdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shorecrest will head out to face off against Lynnwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Shorecrest is facing Lynnwood at the right time seeing as Lynnwood is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
