Softball Recap: Christoval Has No Trouble Against Sonora

Christoval had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Sonora on Friday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 18-5 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Danielle Braswell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sophia Ramirez was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Morgan Ransom, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

The win was the third in a row for Christoval, bringing their record up to 8-2. As for Sonora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Christoval has already played their next matchup, a 17-7 victory against Eldorado on the 1st. As for Sonora, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-6 defeat against San Antonio HomeSchool on the 1st.
