Baseball Recap: Dock Mennonite Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Dock Mennonite walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Nativity BVM Green Wave on Thursday as they made off with a 10-4 win. Considering the Pioneers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Bicht and Ethan Kratz did most of the damage at the plate: Bicht went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Kratz went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Bicht a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bradica, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Dock Mennonite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nativity BVM only posted a batting average of .250.

The victory was the third in a row for Dock Mennonite, bringing their record up to 13-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Nativity BVM, they moved to 9-15 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Dock Mennonite has already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Homer-Center on the 8th. Nativity BVM does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
