Softball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry lost against Basha last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Perry fell just short of Basha by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Pumas have lost by just one run.

CC Hall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Leicht, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Perry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Basha, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will take on Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Perry's pitchers better be ready for this one: Queen Creek has averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Basha, they will challenge Casteel at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
