Baseball Recap: Rivera Triumphs

Rivera picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against the San Antonio HomeSchool Wolverines by a score of 6-1.

The team relied heavily on Marcos Guerrero, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Enrique Rey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Rivera hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Rivera's record now sits at 6-2. As for San Antonio HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Rivera will face off against Taft at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Taft's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Rivera's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Antonio HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Jones on the 28th.
