Fayette Ware is 8-2 against Haywood since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Fayette Ware Wildcats will face off against the Haywood Tomcats at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fayette Ware comes in on four and Haywood on five.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Fayette Ware beat Bolton by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 53-27. Fayette Ware has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Fayette Ware's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ke'Miyah Buggs, who posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals. Buggs is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Victory McKinnie was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Haywood strolled past Bolivar Central with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-41. Given the Tomcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Tigers are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fayette Ware better keep an eye on Camariya Woodland. She was instrumental in Haywood's win, almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Woodland has scored at least a third of Haywood's points. ZeKareya Diggs also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Haywood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Fayette Ware's record now sits at 16-10. As for Haywood, their record is now 14-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fayette Ware has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Haywood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fayette Ware came up short against Haywood when the teams last played on February 7th, falling 52-47. Can Fayette Ware avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
