Preview: Minneola Wildcats vs. Spearville Lancers

Minneola is 0-10 against Spearville since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Minneola Wildcats will be playing at home against the Spearville Lancers. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Minneola struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (Ingalls had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Minneola took a hard 50-32 fall against Ingalls. While losing is never fun, Minneola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Ingalls is ranked 113th).

Despite the defeat, Minneola had strong showings from Braegen Shelor, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, and Maiya Shelor, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Spearville's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 41-27 bruising from Bucklin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spearville has scored all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Minneola and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for Spearville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.

Minneola came up short against Spearville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 48-42. Will Minneola have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
