Softball Recap: Wellesley Raiders vs. Milton Wildcats
If Wellesley was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Lincoln-Sudbury last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell 5-2 to the Milton Wildcats on Monday. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Elizabeth McDonnell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Wellesley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Lee, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Wellesley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Wellesley will challenge Newton North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Milton, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Walpole at 4:00 p.m.
