Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mt. Vernon couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 55-54 to the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Kamaree Pollard, who went 8-for-19 en route to 25 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Autumn Rudd, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 29-4. As for Quincy Notre Dame, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 32-3.

Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they will challenge Montini Catholic at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. Montini Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Quincy Notre Dame surely won't give up without a fight.
