Soccer Recap: Maryville Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

Maryville Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They never let the Gibault Catholic Hawks get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The score was close at halftime, but Maryville Christian pulled away in the second half with four goals.

They hit Gibault Catholic with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brody Nimmons (2), Judah Amsden (2), and Jonah Christian.

This is the second loss in a row for Gibault Catholic and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Maryville Christian and Gibault Catholic will both be playing Breese Central the next time they take the pitch. The Lions will head out to face the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Hawks will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
