Baseball Recap: Dawson Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Dawson barely beat Pasadena Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dawson Eagles never let the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Dawson got a great performance from Bennett Schnee as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Schnee a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Jack Dyment was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Garritt Romero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Dawson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Dawson pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Pasadena Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8-2.

Looking ahead, Dawson will square off against Shadow Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shadow Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Dawson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pasadena Memorial, they are taking a road trip to face off against Dobie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
